FLOWER ARRANGING
Meetings: Every other Friday 1 to 3pm in Westerham Hall
One of the members, who is a great flower arranger, gives demonstrations and makes seasonal suggestions about what the Group might do and is available to provide guidance on techniques. Members are encouraged to choose themes, or any special arrangements they would like to do, and these have included VE Day and June Rose Bowl Decoration (albeit during lockdown). The group will evolve to meet members aspirations. Individuals are responsible for providing their own flowers, oasis, containers, etc.

FRENCH - PARIS
Meetings: In the afternoon on the first and third Thursdays of the month.
Our relaxed and friendly group is very informal and we generally meet in each other's houses/gardens. We also meet at local National Trust properties, Chartwell and Emmetts, and chat in French while walking round the grounds and gardens. The standard in the group ranges from people with A level French who have kept it current to people who studied French at university or lived in France so a good degree of fluency is required - dictionaries won't be used very often!

FRENCH - VERSAILLES
Meetings: to be confirmed
This group is aimed at members who would like to improve their French, especially spoken French, but have a good knowledge of basic grammar and reasonable vocabulary (GCE O’ or A’ level) on which to build. Group members take it in turns to lead a session but support from a native or more fluent speaker may be sourced for some meetings. The format of each session focuses on revising aspects of grammar, improving vocabulary, idiomatic expressions and discussion on a prepared topic, but especially having fun.

FRENCH - AVIGNON
Meetings: weekly on Tuesday mornings from 11 am to 12 noon via Zoom
This group is suitable for those who took “O” Level French or equivalent many moons ago but haven't done much with it since! The aim is to revise and improve all aspects of the language to enable us to communicate when travelling. The first 30 minutes are taken up with news or conversations on various subjects followed by 30 minutes spent reading and translating various books. We are lucky to have the help of a native French speaker to correct us, when she is available.

GARDENING GROUP
Meetings: Second Tuesday in the month from 10.00 am at members' houses
We are a small friendly group of keen gardeners who meet for a chat and coffee. We try to solve our gardening problems and sometimes plant/seed swap. We occasionally visit local gardens, large and small, and generally car share.

GERMAN CONVERSATION
Meetings: First Wednesday in the month at 7.30pm in members homes
This group was newly set up in 2023 and is for members who wish to hold a conversation with other German speakers - so you will need some proficiency. The idea is that topics will be researched prior to the meetings and therefore lead to lively discussions on a variety of subjects.

ITALIAN BEGINNERS
Meetings: On the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month from 10.a.m – 11.30 a.m.
As our tutor, Bernadett Timar, lives in Ely the lessons are via Zoom - so you can stay in the comfort of your own home! The main aim is to speak Italian, the tutor advises the books to buy and her lessons are based on them. We are a small friendly group and really enjoy our sessions. We could accommodate 2 or 3 more members.
